Existence in the Digital World

Through the course of millions of years, humanity has created a great number of discoveries and creations. The primary purpose of these innovations is to make life easier for people and to be of service to others. To such an extent as there exist gadgets or virtual environments that are capable of listening to people, talking to them, guiding them, communicating with them, reading, calculating, remembering, reminding, playing, and doing a variety of other things on their behalf, such devices and surroundings are at the cutting edge of technology. There have been many beneficial and unfavorable developments that have occurred as a result of advances that have entirely altered the life patterns of many individuals. With the advancement of technology, the technical development that has seen the greatest widespread application is the creation of digital items and virtual worlds. As a result of the presence of these surroundings and objects, as well as the opportunities, variety, and audiovisual richness that they provide to individuals, a significant number of them have had a profound impact on our perspective of life and the way we live it. The foundation of these impacts is reliant on the settings and technology that are being discussed.

This is the idea behind technology.

The idea of technology encompasses all of the goods that are produced as a consequence of the processing of information in order to improve the quality of life for humans. The term “technology,” which is often referred to as the “Science of Craftsmanship,” encompasses all of the advancements that have permeated every facet of our life. In terms of technology, the scope encompasses a wide variety of instruments, ranging from instruments that are designed to gather invisible dust that falls on carpets in our homes to a wide variety of materials that will assist in the investigation of other planets by venturing outside the atmosphere. A characteristic that is shared by all technologies is that they are first conceptualized in the mind in an abstract manner, and then they are brought into the tangible world. The term “technology” may be used to refer to anything that is first conceived of as a concept in the mind, and then brought into existence as a product within a manner that is meant to fulfill the goal. In relation to the topic at hand, Batur and Uygun (2012) point out that the definition of the term “technology” in the dictionary specifies that it is the processing of information, the processing of raw information with the intention of providing better service to people, the development of the information that is obtained, and the transformation of it into products.

The reason why man, who was banished to Earth, is looking for a better existence must be owing to the knowledge of creation that he bears inside the depths of his soul, as stated by Gunay and Çalık (2019). On the journey of human beings to complete themselves by meeting their basic needs, we see that there is a need for a tool that can meet each need. If we associate the life perceptions of human beings with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and take into consideration all of the needs that human beings have, such as shelter, nutrition, aesthetics, and sexuality, we see that there is a need for a tool that can meet each need. When we take into account the technologies that are used for hunting and survival, the kitchen tools that are used for cooking or storing food for nutrition, the tools that are produced for situations that appeal to pleasure, the tools that are produced or developed for aesthetic needs, and the needs that are developing for communication, we come to the conclusion that the concept of technology is parallel to the history of humanity.
